Brian Savickis

Coach Brian began his distance running career when he was a freshman at Sachem High School back in 1983, while being the captain of his cross country team.  He also was a race walker while attending there.  He continued running while attending Marist College in Poughkeepsie New York.   He continued running after college by participating in several road races, such as the Cow Harbor Run and the New York State Parks summer run series.  He has also won several medals competing in the Long Island Track and Field meets as a master.  One of his favorite races was with The Team in Training team through The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society where he joined the Mattel Relay Team and competed in a Marathon in California. Coach Brian tried for several years to find a youth league on Long Island for his oldest daughter to run with.  He joined 2nd Wind Track Club with his daughter and decided to assistant coach for the team.  He became a USATF Level 1 Certified Coach to learn more about bio mechanics and is a real stickler for form.  He has assisted with training many National Champions on the 2nd Wind Track Club, with two of them being his own children and he is currently training perfect running form to his youngest child who is 5 years old.  His proudest moment happened 2 years ago, when his 10 year old daughter ran with him in the NYS parks summer run series 5k and beat him, while taking 2nd overall for her age group.
